Style Study: Aspen
With a winter wedding in Vermont, Julia and Colin loved the idea of the Lilywillow "Aspen" design and had the vision to "see it in their minds" before we even began to put pen to paper. Modifying the rich fall browns and copper of the example design to a frosty silver and winter blue, the Personalization of this design just seemed to fall (like a snowflake) into place.
To begin, we focused on finding the perfect paper stock - a slate blue 110 lb. cover that was dark enough to show the gorgeous silver metallic ink off but light enough to keep us clear of the navy or the royal blue tones. Then we started with the creation of a save-the-date, incorporating a snowflake motif to play up the couple's gorgeous wedding location and winter date - the woods of Vermont, the first week of December. The snowflake was re-introduced in the wedding invitation package but the focus on the invitation and response card was the aspen/birch trees. The response card and response card envelope were also designed to be oversized, allowing the wedding guests to send a personal photograph back to the bride and groom.
From start to finish the theme, the colors, and the details were carried throughout. Coordinating suite components include: Save-the-Dates, Invitations, Response Cards, Response Card Envelopes, Accommodation Cards, Schedule of Events Cards, Silver Metallic Gate-Fold Enclosure, and Coordinating Silver Envelopes.
